I was reading a magazine and came across a really interesting non-profit organization. It is called 1% for the Planet.The organization exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. They started back in 2001 with a mission to protect the natural resources and our environment.

     1% For The Planet is enabling businesses to take a lead role in being environmental stewards and to set an example for the rest of the business community. These companies embrace the notion that the sustainability of the natural environment is fundamental to the sustainability of business. The non-profit organization offers a simple, tangible and proactive way for the business community to be a part of the solution.

     So far there is 1184 companies that donate 1% of their sales to a network of 1776 environmental organizations worldwide. It is a growing global movement, and make sure you look for companies that are participating in it.
