I popped into the newly opened eco home improvement store called EcoHaus.  It is at 1090 Bryant Street.  Telephone: 415.692.0662. Monday - Friday: 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday - Sunday: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

There are green products galore including: marmoleum, FSC certified flooring, low flow toilets, kitchen cabinets, paints...  There was an FSC certified floor (where they displayed wood flooring) that blew my mind, it had lots of colors and grains.  The kitchen cabinets had all sorts of sophisticated hinges that would make access to top shelves much easier.  Many Paperstone samples with all the colors too!

"A beautiful home. A better world. We make the connection.

At ecohaus, we believe that everyone cares about the health of the planet. Not just movie stars, activists and dreamers, but every one of us. We all want to live in a world with clean air, abundant forests, thriving communities and a future full of promise.

At the same time, we realize that anyone who builds or remodels has one priority above all: to create a beautiful, healthy home where everything works.

ecohaus connects these two ideals simply by offering the best building products made locally and around the world.

Of course our products are environmentally friendly: if they weren’t, they wouldn’t be “best.” But they’re also tasteful and innovative. We look for unique, cutting-edge materials that have the ability to gain beauty with age.

You’re never on your own at ecohaus. We can help with everything from expert advice to professional installation. Our interactive showroom makes it easy to try out different materials until you get the look you want. There’s room to spread out and play.

Shopping at ecohaus means that you don’t have to compromise between green and gorgeous. And you know that our products aren’t just light-green versions of the same old stuff. It’s a liberating feeling."
