Designed by Jill Salisbury, the Takira Table's unique feature is its beautiful tagua nut inlay. The tagua nut, which is a renewable resource, is found in Ecuador and is traditionally used by local artisans to carve small, sculptural figures. As an inlay, the tagua nut mimics ivory. It is fabricated with domestic wood from sustainably managed forests using a natural, non-toxic finish derived from tree sap.

STANDARD WOOD OPTIONS: WALNUT, RIFT-CUT OAK & CHERRY WITH TAGUA NUT INLAY. FINISH OPTIONS: NATURAL, EBONY WASH ON WALNUT ONLY, EBONY ON EITHER WALNUT OR OAK.

WOOD
All external wood parts used in the manufacturing of el furniture are of the highest grade, sustainably harvested wood and veneers unless otherwise specified. These, like all natural materials, are subject to variation in grain and coloration.

FINISHES
el’s natural, non-toxic finishes have been developed to be comparable with finishes in today’s market. Finish specifications must be shown on each order.

UPHOLSTERY ORDERS
el constructs its upholstered furniture with natural latex, wrapped in organic wool batting, which is treated with chrysanthemum and therefore naturally fights off dust mites.

o Treated with crysanthemum to prevent dust mites by 99.7%

Wool is also naturally flame resistant. El relies in the inherent qualities of these natural materials rather than treating our product with chemicals that mimic the same results.
